Crystal Talismans
As a child of nature, Elaine loves all things of the earth - herbs, plants, stones and metals. She’s happiest in the wilderness exploring the mountains, forests and coastlines of her native Scotland before returning to the studio to channel her inspiration into enchanting works of wearable art.
Captivated with silver since a young age, Elaine taught herself traditional methods of working with metal. A renewed fascination with crystals has led her to combine the two, creating magical, one-of-a-kind talismans. Drawing on the ancient practices of lithotherapy she selects stones for their colours, tactility and unique features as well as the metaphysical qualities they promote.
Design Philosophy
“My preferred metal to work with is silver - a metal long associated with healing. Some cultures have a strong spiritual connection with silver and this is a concept which has always resonated with me. I love the feel, the weight, the way the metal carries the marks of its journey, just like the human soul.”
“I seek to create jewellery that is beautiful and functional, as well as spiritual - jewellery that can easily be worn everyday yet still have the power to connect the wearer to their inner self or to the world around them.”
